What makes KingBirder different is that our contests follow themes, and all photos must be taken and submitted within the contest's date window.
JUST A REMINDER: Submitted photos must be TAKEN between June 1, 2021 and July 31, 2021 to be eligible for the "Seeing Red" contest. Good luck!
Contest closed on July 31, 2021.
Many species of birds around the world have red somewhere on their body. Birds that are eligible for this contest must show some red in their plumage, eyes, legs, bill, etc. We will accept shades of pink as well. Also, any bird with the word "red" in its common name will be accepted (for example, red-tailed hawk or red-backed shrike). Send us a note if you have a question about eligibility for your submission. Get out there and capture a great shot so that you won't be "seeing red"!
Contest opens on September 1, 2021 and closes on October 31, 2021.
This contest theme was suggested by KingBirder contestant Trevor Sykes, thanks Trevor! Eligible entries must have a bird(s) posing on a tree or plant, perhaps a woodpecker on a tree trunk, a parrot in a palm tree, or a goldfinch on a daisy. "Wood" you "plant" yourself in the right location long enough for the perfect shot?
Contest opens on December 1, 2021 and closes on January 31, 2022.
This contest theme was suggested by KingBirder contestant Desiree McAloon, thanks Desiree! For this contest theme it is all about female birds! Eligible submissions must have a female bird in the shot. Monomorphic birds (birds where the male and female look the same) are not eligible. You may have a male bird in the shot as long as the female is there as well. Luck be a lady tonight!
